In a few weeks’ time I will be heading off to North Wales to teach on the Dru Summer Youth Retreat. This is one of the highlights of my year and the fourth time I’ve been lucky enough to be one of the tutors.
I not only get to share Dru Yoga and meditation with 12 amazing young people, aged 14-21, but I get to spend four fantastic days exploring the stunning Snowdonia National Park. And with some of my wonderful Dru colleagues and dear friends to boot.
It’s an action-packed four days, with far more than simply practicing yoga and learning to meditate. In previous years we’ve also challenged ourselves and faced our fears by abseiling down cliffs, setting off on silent Vision Quests, scrambled up gorges (walking through waterfalls and jumping into bottomless pools).
I always learn so much from the courage and compassion of the young people on this retreat and come home feeling inspired and re-invigorated. It never fails to fill me with hope for the future.
I can’t wait to see what adventures this year brings!
