All the benefits of your weekly Dru Yoga class from the comfort of your own home.
This class is suitable for all ages and abilities, whether you are a seasoned yogi or trying it for the first time.
Enjoy a fun activation, followed by flowing sequences, therapeutic yoga postures, breathing exercises and a deep Dru four-stage relaxation to finish. It's the perfect way to relax, relieve tension and reduce stress.
How it works
It’s very simple. The class will be hosted live on Zoom, an online video conferencing service. You will need to create a Zoom account, but only the free one. And you can do this quickly and easily before joining your first class - it only takes a few minutes. (Here is a link to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on the Zoom website). Rest assured, I have a paid for Zoom business account which means I can hold group ‘meetings’ or classes for more than 40 minutes.
Once you have emailed me to register your interest in joining either or both of my classes, I will send you the link and password for joining the class live on Zoom. And all you need to do is click on the link and put in the password.
When they are
At the moment I am running two, live online classes from my home studio (Eastview Studio) in Sheffield:
Mondays, 8.15pm - 9.30pm
Wednesdays, 7-8.15pm.
I am planning to add further Dru Yoga, Laughter Yoga and meditation classes, clubs and workshops in the coming months. Sign up for my newsletter to stay informed.
What you need
All the need is:
A smart phone, tablet, laptop or PC - ideally with a webcam, so I can see you as well as you being able to see me
Internet access
A free Zoom account (and the meeting link which I will send you when you register for the class)
A quiet space in which you can practice yoga without being interrupted - this might be your biggest challenge at the moment!
Comfortable clothes that enable you to move freely
A cushion and/or a blanket for the relaxation
To have filled in a Health Questionnaire - see below.
You don’t necessarily need a yoga mat, particularly if you’re practicing in a space with a carpet.
What I need
If you’re a new TOBY YOGA student and haven’t been to one of my classes before - either in person or online - then you will need to complete a short Health Questionnaire before joining. This is both for your benefit and to comply with my insurance. Please contact me and I will send you one. I look forward to welcoming you to class.
The cost
As these are challenging times for all of us and many have seen our income reduce or even disappear, I want to ensure that everyone is able to take part in my online classes, regardless of their financial circumstances. Now more than ever we need our yoga practice to help us cope, build resilience and find balance. This is why I will initially be running these classes on a ‘Pay What You Can Afford’ basis. (As a guide, my face-to-face classes are £9 per session when you commit to paying for a block five or more or £10 per session on a class-by-class basis). But if you can only afford a few quid that’s absolutely fine. Just contribute whatever you are able to - in yoga we call this a ‘karma exchange’.
How to pay
You can pay by Bank Transfer or PayPal. You can pay on a weekly basis or for a block of five classes. It’s up to you. The only thing I ask is that you pay in advance (or just after the class if you forget!).
Once you sign up, I’ll send you all the payment details with the Zoom links and passwords.
Existing TOBY YOGA students
If you already attend a TOBY YOGA class and have paid in a block, you might want to use this as payment for attending the online classes. Let me know and I can confirm where you’re up to in terms of sessions remaining.
And finally…
1-2-1 Dru Yoga consultation
I am also happy to offer one-to-one targeted Dru Yoga consultations by Zoom. These bespoke sessions are tailored to your specific needs. Working on a one-to-one basis is beneficial for many reasons, for example if you:
have a specific health concern or issue that you want to work on, such as anxiety, grief or self-esteem.
want to deepen your practice by exploring a specific aspect of yoga in more detail, such as meditation, breathwork (pranayama), mudras, yoga philosophy or meditation.
Simply feel like treating yourself class that focuses solely on you and your needs, such as a deep relaxation or restorative yoga nidra.
Look after yourselves, be kind and keep practicing your yoga.
Namaste.
