Dru Yoga for All Seasons - the power of letting go

As the summer comes to and end and the nights start drawing in, your weekly Dru Yoga classes return for the Autumn.

The changing of the seasons offer us moments of stillness and contemplation. The chance to reflect on the changes taking place in the world around us and those occurring within our own lives.

The main energy of autumn is that of completion and the satisfaction of attainment. A time of harvest. The season of “mellow fruitfulness” as the poet Keats rather beautifully puts it.

There is a stillness, serenity and gracefulness as we glide through this season of restrained energies. Nature begins to slowly withdraw and the trees teach us the power of letting go by gently dropping their leaves.

Dru Yoga gives us tools and techniques for coping with change and learning how to flow with life, rather than fighting with or resisting it. Helping us stretch beyond our normal habits and routines. Offering us the chance to look at things from a different perspective.

Other styles of yoga often begin with the physical discipline of stretching, toning, breath work. And only then do they either move onto the inner work later or miss it out all together.

In Dru Yoga we take a more holistic approach, putting personal development at the forefront from the moment that you being to practice it. This is what makes it such an uplifting and empowering experience.

This autumn’s Dru Yoga classes are characterised by movements which help to release and resolve the past, letting go of that which is no longer helpful or required. Giving you the space to reflect on what has been worthwhile and meaningful, leading to greater clarity and focus.
